I have made an offer on a house! I am waiting to get through the process of buying a house...
I am hoping it will all work out. It can still fall apart at any moment. Holding my breath...
But this was a good sign. A robin landed on the mailbox as we were sitting there waiting for the realtor.
It didn't poop though...remember the scene in Under the Tuscan Sun where the little old lady won't sell her the house and then the bird poops on her and then the lady says "it's a sign" and sells her the house.
I took this picture last Spring using Instagram and I heard about a book that was being published of Instagram photos from Susannah Conway's blog (also creator of The August Break). Susannah encrouaged her readers to submit a photo, so I did! And the book editor contacted me a little later and said that they wanted to use my little photo for the cover! Wow!! They sent me a couple of the books today.
My photo is a famous gazebo in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. It is unusual because it is really old and because it has two levels. It is a lovely spot where there are often weddings or people taking wedding photos. It is a beautiful spot especially in the spring when the trees are in bloom.
Wow! I am excited and honored to have my little photo on the cover of this lovely little book!
Well, today would have been my 30th wedding anniversary if we hadn't gotten a divorce. Our "love" didn't work out, but I did "love" my dress.
Classic 1980's satin froth complete with hoop skirt. I felt like Cinderella!
I loved that long train and the white lace embellishments over the cream colored satin.
I saved the dress in a box that has not been stored properly. In my purging mode, I decided that today is the day to finally get rid of the dress. I have been carrying this dress around for thirty years. I have moved quite a few times and moved the box along with us. I haven't even opened the box in all of these years. I am sure the dress is not in good shape and I don't want to open it to look at it. I will remember it in these photos instead.
